Ayta lives in Gorodovikovsk, a remote smalltown in the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia. Together with her husband Bayr she raises their one-year-old daughter. The area they live in, Gorodovikovsk, is new to them, located far away from their hometown Elista where their families live. Bayr is stationed here for a job position by the higher-up in command and has no other choice but to condition his family to live in a less comfortable environment. 
 

The young family expects a second child - Ayta is seven months pregnant. She experiences loneliness in pregnancy and parenthood since Bayr must work overtime barely spending time at home. She fills her days with the household chores and taking care of baby Angira. Ayta seeks some comfort in a little bubble of their appartement that they rent as a temporary accommodation. The monotony of her life makes her want the time to pass by faster, but the opposite happens: the routine is slow, according to the pace of the area they live in.
